It should help abit and with norton gone ya pc will load windows 50 times faster Norton also turns the best pc into the worlds slowest brick n it cant find a virus even if ya fed it one=get rid of that crapĪvast and malwarebytes is better antivirus Its like that cat meme=hang in there it will get better as time passesĬonsider increasing page file but dont set it higher than windows says it can be set(set it 1mb lower than recommended value)Įxit all that crap on ya taskbar and in task manager or msconfig=disable anything apple as itunes is one serious memory hog along with that bonjour thing too!ĭont set an insanely high res desktop n get rid of the areo theme So true how the latest hardware can get so old real quick these days

Psssst=ue4 has a cull distance volume and a builder brush just like ue3 has and it really does help iron things out until ya get time to optimise the game n squeeze the juice out of the potato tie a chain to the tower go fishing n use it as a boat anchor n pee overboard=patience n it somehow works better when its full of water just don't wet the hdd:) Quite often when i make ue3 workshop maps i have to add a cull distance volume to stop everyone with nvidia bit#ing about lag/driving me freakin crazy when said viscera cleanup maps run at 60fps without a video card on even a crappy old lenovo laptop from 10 years ago=yet people with latest alienware n i7 etc say VCD lags=nvidia is crap unless ya got thier latest hardware Yeah ea wait for more updates its starting to get nice n smooth as devs keep updating ue4 and the game!
The only thing that sux about my new pc is bugrosoft bugrows 10:) Ryzen 7 32gb ram n a spiffy new msi armour 8gb video card n postal 4 is nice n smooth on ultra until curiosity kills the game with way too many cats Personally i dislike/hate nvidia hardware with avengence when it comes to unreal engine=nvidia the way it was meant to lag=garbage hardware esp the older gtx970 nvidia series(crap) i got better fps in unreal engine 3 on 32mb intel graphics than a 970 could ever do on my old i5 4gb ram boat anchor that also ran postal 2 with no issues on a 1990's hdd that had less than 500mb free space left on it n the funny thing was when i put the gtx 970 back in postal 2 lagged heaps! My pc is a good new one definately AMD all the way=no lag at all on ultra until i spam cats everywhere then it gets abit jittery on my 8gb video card=i should refrain from spawning cats lol but i cant help it=meow:) Only dies on me if i release 1000 cats in a building as cats can only open wooden doors as they can not open glass ones (yet) so they cant escape some of the buildings like the servo and the diner and they dont die or de-spawn if theres too many cats

So i would not hold my breath for optimisations patch any soon, for now they are to busy adding things like spanking sounds.no comments needed. keep it up i made the exact same topic as you in the steam forum, and instead of replying to me to give informations or trying to give tips for performence, they deleted the topic. if possible this could be useful for debugging (and identifying) common problems with users in future releases. it would be nice if you can please make teh performance better, or add a button to disable the variables that make all the things that might cause these lags.
This seems game-engine related rather than pure graphics optimizations, but maybe i am wrong.Īlso btw OMG POSTAL 4 ZOMG AMAZING CONGRATULATIONS RWS. I try reducing the texture size and stuff but I think the input lag is caused by something else relating to the way the engine takes input calculates things and draws, as opposed to the graphics card itself.

Hopefully the next unreal update can save that. My i7 and Nvidia 1070 GTX is dying playing this game.
